Welcome

Welcome to my homepage.
I am a Professor of Methods at the University of Salzburg. Before that, I was a lecturer at the University of Reading. I hold a PhD from ETH Zurich. My research focuses on challenges to (liberal) democracy. Specifically, I am interested in understanding empirically how populism and climate change exert pressure on liberal democratic governance.

I currently serve as a co-editor in chief of Political Research Exchange.

I am happy to co-organise and co-host the Populism Seminar with Annika Werner (Australian National University), Andrej Zaslove (Radboud University Nijmegen), and Maurits Meijers (Radboud University Nijmegen). We regularly meet on Zoom to exchange the latest populism research and to facilitate cooperation among scholars across countries. For the latest information, please follow @PopulismSeminar on Twitter.
